Sukhdi is an Indian dish which is made using only 3 ingredients – Wheat Flour, Ghee and Jaggery. It is said to be originated in Gujarat. It’s commonly prepared during festivals and auspicious occasions.
Ingredients:
1 cup wheat flour
2 Tablespoon ghee
1 cup jaggery
Steps:
- In a pan heat 2 teaspoons ghee on a low flame.
- Once the ghee heats a little add 1 cup jaggery and mix well until the jaggery is completely melted.
- Once you start seeing bubbles add 1 cup wheat flour
- Mix all the ingredients well
- Keep stirring it well until the flour is mixed well with the jaggery and ghee
- Now remove it from the stove and add it in a small plate
- using the back part of the bowl/ katori spread out the mixture well while gently pressing it
- Using a knife cut into small triangular/ square pieces while it’s hot
- You can serve it hot/ cold. It tastes really well when eaten hot.
There are many ways to make this sukhdi – If you want the sukhdi to be more crispy you can roast the wheat flour and then follow the same process.
